Collaboration with Kameryn

September 9, 2017 by rustypants Leave a Comment

Working with other photographers can be challenging.

Challenging in the sense that we can be territorial and protective of what’s ‘ours’, whether that’s shoot locations, models, styles, lighting techniques, shooting techniques, etc. This makes even just basic interaction with some photographers difficult to say the least.

I don’t do collaborations frequently, but when I do they’re almost always great shoots – that ability to work together, two different styles of photography working together to create something similar, but something completely different all at once.

This was true when I shot with Kameryn 2 weeks ago at the abandoned mansion. We had talked and met before this shoot, realized our similar vision for what makes good photography, and decided to give it a go together and shoot Julia and Jade, two sisters who live in Pace, FL.

I’ve never experienced two sisters more in-tune with each other, more caring, more loving than these two. They made our sunrise shoot a total blast.

The only regret from that morning’s shoot was not getting a shot of Kameryn and I together with Jade and Julia!

But hopefully we’ll get another opportunity to shoot with them again.
