Taylor and I met up in June 2023 to experiment with lighting, mirrors, tape, perspective and… Saran Wrap. A simple household product that we only think about when we need to seal up some perishable food, it’s a fun and cheap way of looking at the body from a different / distorted perspective. Wrap it tight, wrap it loose, keep it to one area of the body, wrap the whole body, add rope or tape – there are tons of ways of using it and getting a shiny compressed result. Throw in some movement, change up the lighting, look at the scene from a different perspective, shoot up close, back up and shoot it all, and finally shoot The Escape (or The Removal) – really, you need to try it.
Taylor picked seven of her favorites (but admitted it was difficult to keep it to seven) and I picked three of mine for this post (and I agree: I wish we could post them all!)
